We were invited to design a dedicated home for The Podium Institute for Sports Medicine and Technology, the world’s first independent academic institute focussed on the safety and lifelong health of youth and grassroots athletes. Having previously operated from within Oxford University’s Department for Biomedical Engineering, the Institute required its own new space that would reflect its pioneering mission and accommodate its rapidly expanding team.

Podium works alongside many partner and stakeholder organisations. It was essential that the scheme gained approval on many levels including that of its primary funder Podium Analytics, the NGO and charity.

From the beginning, we understood that the spaces needed to be as dynamic as the teams using them. The resulting scheme delivers a future - focussed environment, with strong but versatile meeting and collaborative zones, all designed to adapt to the evolving needs of the organisation. Smart detailing, thoughtful layouts and an overarching design language with energy and clarity that will ensure the environment not only performs but also inspires.

This is a space that embodies the spirit of progress where research meets impact and design drives purpose.
